Java SDK for RS Media with USBNET Now Available

In case you don't spot it in the Downloads section:

Java SDK for RS Media with USBNET

This is the contents of the Java One CD from 2007.

Hi Peter,
I think the above post is a little confused.
From the downloads area I can see two posts:-

Source-for-RS-Media-with-USBNET
http://www.robocommunity.com/download/17591/Source-for-RS-Media-with-USB...
But this contains the Java SDK image. It is not source for RSM-with-USBNET

There is also
http://www.robocommunity.com/download/17590/Original-RS-Media-Firmware/
This does contain most of the firmware for the 'RSM-without-USBNET'.
I think your comment above "WowWee has also provided the original firmware to recover your RS Media in the event of a bad flash, but remember, tinkering around with this stuff is always unsupported and at your own risk!"
would be relevant for this firmware. But not somuch for the Java SDK image.

Can you tell us if the firmware for 'RSM with USBNET'is coming .... I would really really like to see that!!

Cheers
Helibot

(PS to avoid confusion maybe you want to remove my post and amend your original post)

THANK YOU to Randy, WowWee (and to you too, Peter) for putting this up! I'm sure developers will find this quite useful. I hope they put up the USBNet version of the firmware too. Nyx is a USBNet robot.

Hi to you all!I recently "re-discovered" my RS-Media and wanted to program it (not just with a graphical editor, like the one from the Editing-Suite from the included DVD, but with real programming). So I searched and found a way which is to write shell-scripts and/or get a shell on the RS-Media (Dev-Kit: http://rsmediadevkit.sourceforge.net/index.html). I tried to get a working shell instance via USB, but I encountered many problems and I am still not able to do it yet, mainly, because of the fact, that there is very few (if any) documentation for this Development-Kit. So I did some more research and stumbled upon this Java SDK. The problem is, that I searched the entire Internet, but I only found the download link, which you Guys discovered as well. This woudn't have been a big deal, if the link still worked in 2018... :-(I already tried putting the link into the Wayback-Machine, but with no results. The only thing it had to offer, was the webpage without the donwload. So, the reason, why I wrote this post is, because I hoped that someone might still have a working copy of that Java SDK, which he/she could re-upload and post a link here, so we could still program the RS-Media with Java in 2018...Thanks and best regards from Germany! :-)

Sorry for the incorrect formatting! I discovered the "Full HTML"-option right after I posted this...
