SmartBand not charging

SmartBand not charging

Good day, Just bought this for my daughter and cannot get the Smartband to charge. It continues to flash(flickers) that semi-white (purplish hue light). I assumed from the literature that this was simple right out of the box tech. Am I supposed to put batteries in the thing?Any advice?

I went to https://chip.support.wowwee.com/hc/en-us and submitted a support ticketif you do the same, pick ‘other’ as the support type as could not work out the hardware product id

It has a 130mAh 3.7v rechareable battery in it. I am not sure I want to try and replace it myself especially importing a third party lithium from china for safety sake, so really hoping support will send a replacment band, otherwise looking at approx £50

I am in same situation. And looks like Smyths where it was bought from don't stock any more. So going to be stuck with a voucher with high amount on and no dog

We have the exact same issue. The smart band is blinking purple and does not stop blinking. It should stay solid purple after its done charging. We have tried using an iPhone usb charger, laptop, Android - none worked. We also returned the Chip robot back to Target and got a replacement.  The replacement has the exact same issue! I think there is a bad batch of smart bands that was shipped and Wowwee needs to replace them via warranty. Please let me know if anyone got resolution from Wowee yet. We submitted a support ticket last week and no answer!
