What is USB NET?

In options I found USB mode and another selection for USB NET. What is this for?

Thanks

It isn't documented anywhere, and doesn't appear to be useful. There was some speculation that it allowed running a TCP/IP stack over USB in order to fulfill Sun's requirements for the "Java-enabled" certification, but no hard evidence.

Define hard evidence and I will see about providing it for you.

The option loads a special USB->Serial driver into the RS Media's kernel ( I say special meaning I have yet to find drivers for the other end), and then attemps to create a PPP link over the USB-Serial link.
