I just went to pleoworld.com and saw a link to this interview with Ugobe's Steve Bannerman who says a few interesting things including NEW LIFEFORMS IN 2009!  I for one am a big Pleo fan.  It is the most interactive and engaging robot I have ever owned or interacted with.  i can't wait to see what Ugobe has in store for their next lifeform.

So what's it gonna be?  A Pleo V2?  Another dinosaur?  A dog?  An alien?  What do you guys want to see?  What features do you think they should add or modify?  Let the endless speculation and anticipation begin!

for the record, I would like to see some kind of original design. A weird but cute alien pet or maybe a dragon. I would love for the next lifeform to be able to move a little faster and be able to right itself if it falls over. I would like to keep with the camera based vision as with Pleo, but it needs to be taken advantage of. To date, Pleo hast no object, facial, or color recognition despite the fact that it (somehow) has camera-based vision. The next lifeform should be able to recognize its toy and seek it out for play. It would be really cool if it could recognize its owner and become excited to see them. I would also like to see improved processing speed since I feel Pleo reacts too slowly to certain things such as being picked up. And of course, navigation and self charging are high on the wish list.

i think a kangaroo would be neat especially if it had a pouch and could jump

I hope they finally solve the "peeling" paint and skin wear issues. I think those are unforgivible flaws for something that costs this much...

I wouldn't have much use for a robot kangaroo as I can go to where I work for that. They almost ran me off my mountain bike once! It was freaky. And it wasn't even a big one. However, if I did have a robot kangaroo, maybe I could go and tease the real ones......

I started with 2 robots but before I knew it, well, it's a disease I tell you.

They're just like deer only they hop and don't have antlers. And you DON'T want to hit one with your car.

I really want to see another dinosaur like a raptor or a Brachiosaur! I love dinos, they're just so amazing and interesting! If not another dino, then i would love to see a big Woolly Mammoth or Woolly Rino! Something prehistoric is great for me!! :D
