RS Media Touch Screen Remote Software

Hi,

I'm new to robotics and this is my first post in the forum. I saw a listing on E-Bay where someone was selling a phone that had software on it to control RS Media robots. I was wondering if anyone knows the source of this software as I have never seen this before.

Here is the link to the listing:

Thanks.

I believe I found the software, I think its the windows version of Gerbers RS Media control station software (http://www.themadrobot.talktalk.net/page_home.html). Further investigation shows that its running on a HTC Wizard cell phone which runs windows mobile.

My question now is can you just buy an old windows mobile cell phone with IRda and Bluetooth and run the Gerber software on it, basically creating a nifty graphic controller?

Hi R_wright1 and welcome

Don't think that was my software on the phone on ebay. The RSMCS software I developed looks slightly different to that. I think the phone you can see on ebay is a windows phone. I have seen FreddyA, another member of the forum use that bit of software before on his phone.

The app I developed runs on an andriod phone or tablets using bluetooth to commnicate to the RS Media which means to use it you will need to add the serial hack to to robot and have a bluetooth chip also fit in the RSM media. Unfortunately my software doesn't commuicate using Infred sorry.

To run my app you will need an Adroid phone with a touch screen and bluetooth.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the clarification Gerber. I still getting my arms around the options available for an RS media and assummed it was using your software as the seller mentioned Skype for Gerbers RS Media Control Station as a feature. I guess the Skype support is just a component used to indirectly control your software on another platform (just guessing).

I'm going to continue to research what that phone is running and how its configured, as it would be a low cost option for controlling the robots.

I just wanted to say, for the record. These are being sold by a member here by the username of FreddyA.
