Robo Mini's - Is Less More?
Posted by Khalid J Hosein on Thursday, 14 December 2006
What's in a mini? Does it pack the same goodness of its larger brother into a smaller package? Here's the lowdown on the minis.
Priced to move, the minis look just like their bigger brothers, but alas, they don't have the same features, particularly all of the motors, sensors, and programmability. What can they do? Here are some quick guides to each one:
Mini Robosapien: 7" tall, his eyes light up, articulated arms, gripper hands, and he walks.
Mini Roboraptor: 7", articulated arms, walking action.
Mini Robopet: 4", wind-up, walks.
Mini Robosapien V2: 9" tall, his eyes light up, articulated arms, gripper hands, and he walks.
Mini Roboreptile: 5" long, sweeping head, moving jaw, walks.
Ok, so that list doesn't make them sound as exciting as the bigger guys, but they do look exactly like the originals and are so cute! Oh yes, much easier on your battery wallet - they only need 2 AAA's each. The only outstanding question is when the RS Media mini is coming out...
